Anglo American plc is a South African multinational mining company based in Johannesburg, South Africa and London, United Kingdom.

 

  • Anglo American had the administrative difficulty of managing an employee share scheme with employees who had left but were still owed funds.
  • Singular enhanced our proprietary SaaS Employee share incentive platform for Anglo American which created a single source of the historical data. The system incorporated a payment, KYC verification and shareholder tracing functionality ensuring the accuracy of payments and eliminating the potential for erroneous payments to unverified participants or bank accounts, thereby reuniting participants with their unclaimed funds. Anglo now also outsources the end-to-end management of this incentive scheme solution to Singular.

Sasfin and its subsidiaries provide a comprehensive range of specialist financial products and services for Business and Wealth clients.

 

  • In the extremely competitive market of private wealth, Sasfin understood that setting the benchmark for client service is critical. With the average wealth client now much more involved in their own tax affairs, it was imperative that Sasfin was able to provide clear, accurate and informative tax reporting to their clients.
  • Singular developed a customised data cleaning tool to assist in the classification of transactions and corporate actions. Additionally, Singular assists Sasfin with interpreting the tax consequences of corporate events which are in turn used to substantiate reports sent to clients. Singular's proprietary solution "CGT Express" is used to process the transactions on a weighted average base cost method and also generates custom client statements that are sent directly to Sasfin clients.

Multichoice is a South African company that operates the DStv Satellite Television service, a major satellite TV service in Sub-Saharan Africa.

 

  • Multichoice had a requirement to diversify their shareholder base in order to maintain a strong BBBEE (Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment) rating.
  • Singular designed and developed an OTC (over-the-counter) trading system whereby Multichoice could list shares of a special purpose vehicle company (SPV) which could then be traded by specific demographic groups under the BBBEE legislation. Multichoice was able to apply strict controls regarding the trading of these shares. The share trading platform has evolved into a fully-fledged, licensed stock exchange which today helps other companies list their own alternative financial instruments while providing them with complete control in terms of the trading rules.
